CGA Tour — THE PRIMETIME Championship (2026)
Weekend Recap 4/5/26: Opening Scores Are In

The 2026 season is officially underway.

After an extra week of anticipation, four players stepped up and posted the first tournament rounds of THE PRIMETIME Championship, giving us an early leaderboard—and a clear tone for the event.

Grimaldi Sets the Pace at Even Par

All eyes were on Ryan Grimaldi as the first player to put a score on the board, and he delivered.

Grimaldi carded an even-par round at Rocky River, immediately establishing himself as the man to beat. His round featured 2 net eagles and 4 net birdies, showing flashes of elite scoring ability that can separate him from the field.

It wasn’t flawless, though.

Costly mistakes—net double bogeys on holes 4, 9, and 13—kept the round from going even lower. Still, posting even par as the first official round of the 2026 season is no small feat. He didn’t just set the pace—he set a strong one.

Monroe Sits in Second After Rollercoaster Round

Rookie Kyle Monroe currently holds 2nd place at +4, and his round at Fort Mill was anything but boring.

Monroe matched Grimaldi’s explosiveness at times, recording 1 net eagle and 4 net birdies. But two massive setbacks proved costly—net triple bogeys on holes 5 and 17.

What makes those numbers even tougher to swallow?
Both came on par 3s.

Clean those up, and Monroe is right there at the top. Instead, he’ll have to sit with a 2nd place finish at best.

Remley Grinds Into Third

Another rookie, Mike Remley, sits in 3rd place at +7 after a steady, if unspectacular, round at Whitney Farms.

Remley’s card tells the story of a player who stayed mostly under control:

  • Net birdie on 1

  • Net eagle on 13

  • Net double bogeys on 3, 4, and 18

Outside of a few bumps, it was a composed effort across both nines. Not flashy—but enough to stay within striking distance of a podium finish as the tournament unfolds.

Cleary Falters Late, Lands in Fourth

Rookie Jake Cleary rounds out the early leaderboard at +9, and his round was a tale of two nines.

He came out strong on the front:

  • 3 net birdies

  • Just 1 net double bogey (hole 2)

But the back nine told a different story.

A stretch that included net double bogeys on 11 and 12, along with additional bogeys and no birdies coming home, led to a complete momentum shift. What looked like a potential contender’s round quickly unraveled.

Looking Ahead

Four scores are in. More are coming.

Grimaldi holds the early lead, but with plenty of golf left in THE PRIMETIME Championship, the pressure is now on the rest of the field to respond.

Who’s next to post—and can anyone catch even par?

The season is officially underway.
